Netherlands Museum for photography

The Netherlands Museum for Photography is based in a workshop building of the Holland-America Line. It is a meeting point for photographers and their admirers. The museum offers a wide ranging programme of exhibitions showing the big names of DutchFotomuseum photography, young talents and amateurs alike. The museum offers  a permanent presentation of the history of Dutch photography.

In addition to the exhibitions visitors can listen to the stories behind the photos, surf through the digital collection of over 120,000 photos, watch short movies by photographers in the  Movie Lounge or browse through the extensive library.

The museum organises a challenging programma of activities with workshops, lectures and tours.

The museum manages the archives of 150 photographers, thus possesing a kaleidoscope of a century of Dutch phographic history. In its restoration studios photos from the museum's own collection, but also from other museums and private collectors are being restored and conservated.

Prints of the museums most interesting photos are on sale in the museum shop in addtion to books and greeting cards.
