During the last ten years or so
Rotterdam's culinary world has made fast progress. The city now offers a
wide range of restaurants and other eateries. The scale spans from top
notch Michelin star places to simple "eetcafé's", pubs and bars serving
simple, but decent meals. The versatility of the city is mirrored in the
number of culinary traditions from around the world that are
represented. Looking for a place to
quench your thirst should not cause much problems in Rotterdam. The city
boasts a varied café and pub scene. Grand Café's , music bars, pubs and
clubs: it's all there. Watering holes are concentrated around the Oude
Haven (Old Docks), very popular in summer on account of the
outside tables, Stadhuisplein (Town Hall square) which houses a
couple of loud bars for a young crowd and finally the artsy Witte de
Withstraat.
