It was self portraitdesigned by Stokla (1938).  Since 1993 the museum holds a special collecton of paintings and sculptures by the expressionist  Henk Chabot. (1894-1949). Core of the collection is made up of 26 paintings Chabot made during the German occupation of Rotterdam (1940-45). Besides changing themed exhibitions showing its collection the museum also organises larger exhibitions in co-operation with other (private) museums both home and abroad.
