Het carnaval is met
bijna 1 miljoen bezoekers na meer dan 30 jaar nog steeds
Nederlands populairste gratis buitenevenement en één van de
grootste zomercarnavals van Europa. Ruim 40 wagens vormen
meer dan 2,5 kilometer lange optocht. Ook dit jaar trekt er weer
veel muziek, dans en kleur aan aan de toeschouwers voorbij
. De optocht vertrekt rond 13.00 uur op de Blaak
en gaat vervolgens door de Witte de Withstraat, Museumpark
Mathnesserlaan, Nieuwe Binnenweg, Westblaak, Karel
Doormanstraat, Weena, Hofplein, Coolsingel weer terug naar het
startpunt, waar de laatste wagens rond 17.30 uur aankomen.

The
carnival draws around 1 million visitors each year and is the
most popular free outdoor event in the country and one of
biggest summer carnivals in Europe. Over 40 floats form a 2.5
kilometre parade. This year once more - for the 31st time - lots
of music, dance and colour will fill the streets. The parade
starts at 1pm on Blaak (near Cubic Houses) and will continue
through Witte de Withstraat, Museumpark Mathnesserlaan, Nieuwe
Binnenweg, Westblaak, Karel Doormanstraat, Weena, Hofplein,
Coolsingel and back to the starting point, where the last floats
